What is a Striker Sewist?

Typically small fabric companies need help in promoting their materials. To do this, they will often acquire a striker sewist. A striker sewist will test the materials by sewing them into actual products (garments, bags, etc) and posting photos online so customers can view the materials in use. This promotes their business while allowing customers to preview the materials’ print scale, colors, and sewing abilities before ordering for themselves.

In exchange for the work the striker sewist does, the fabric company will send testing materials at no charge and often offer discounts on their other materials in addition.
